The hypocrites seek to outwit God -- but it is He who outwits them. And when they stand up for prayer, they do so reluctantly and to be seen by others, and they hardly remember God at all. (142) Wavering between that (and this), (belonging) neither to these nor to those; and whomsoever Allah causes to err, you shall not find a way for him. (143) O Ye who believe! take not infidels for friends, instead of believers. Would ye give Allah against you a manifest warranty! (144) Surely the hypocrites will be in the lowest reach of the Fire; thou wilt not find for them any helper; (145) Except for those who repent, correct themselves, hold fast to Allah, and are sincere in their religion for Allah, for those will be with the believers. And Allah is going to give the believers a great reward. (146) And what will Allah gain by punishing you, if you acknowledge the truth and accept faith? And Allah is Most Appreciative, All Knowing. (147) ۞ Allah does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Knower. (148) Whether ye disclose a good or conceal it, or pardon an evil, then verily Allah is ever Pardoning potent. (149) Those who deny God and His messengers and seek to make a distinction between God and His messengers and say, "We believe in some messengers and disbelieve in others", and desire to adopt a position in between. (150) These are the real disbelievers; and for the disbelievers We have kept prepared a disgraceful punishment. (151) And those who believe in Allah, and His Messengers and do not divide between any of them; to those, We shall surely give them their wages. Allah is the Forgiver, the Most Merciful. (152)
