The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, (1) Created man from a clinging substance. (2) Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, (3) who has taught [man] the use of the pen (4) taught the human what he did not know. (5) Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, (6) because he thinks himself self-sufficient: (7) Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. (8) Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, (9) A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? (10) Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, (11) Or enjoineth piety? (12) Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? (13) Does he not know that God observes all things? (14) Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, (15) The lying, sinful forelock - (16) So, let him call upon his way! (17) We also shall call the infernal guards. (18) No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ (19)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
