The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, (1) Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). (2) Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, (3) who taught by the pen, (4) The One Who taught man all what he did not know. (5) Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). (6) whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: (7) Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. (8) What thinkest thou? He who forbids (9) A bondman when he offers the prayer? (10) Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, (11) Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? (12) What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? (13) Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? (14) Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, (15) the lying, rebellious forehead! (16) So let him summon his helpmates; (17) We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! (18) Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ (19)
