The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created (1) Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: (2) Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, (3) who taught by the pen, (4) taught Man that he knew not. (5) Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel (6) Because he sees himself self-sufficient. (7) Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. (8) Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth (9) A servant when he prays? (10) Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, (11) Or enjoins righteousness? (12) Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, (13) Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? (14) No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, (15) A lying, sinful forelock! (16) Then, let him call his assembly, (17) We shall call on the guards of Hell. (18) Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ (19)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
