The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- (1) Createth man from a clot. (2) Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, (3) Who taught by the pen, (4) Has taught man that which he knew not. (5) Indeed, surely the human is very insolent (6) because he thinks himself self-sufficient: (7) Surely to your Lord is the return. (8) What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – (9) a servant [of God] from praying? (10) Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, (11) and enjoins piety? (12) Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? (13) Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? (14) Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, (15) A lying, sinning forelock. (16) So let him call on his concourse! (17) We also shall call the infernal guards. (18) Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ (19)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
