The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
