The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), (1) created the human from a (blood) clot. (2) Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, (3) Who hath taught mankind by the pen (4) taught man what he did not know. (5) Yet man behaves arrogantly, (6) Because he sees himself self-sufficient. (7) Surely to your Lord is your return. (8) Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, (9) A slave when he prayeth? (10) Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, (11) or is concerned with God-consciousness? (12) Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? (13) Does he not realize that God sees him? (14) Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- (15) the lying, rebellious forehead! (16) So let him call his associates, (17) We too shall summon the guards of Hell. (18) No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ (19)
Almighty God's Truth.
