The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. (1) Createth man from a clot. (2) Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - (3) who taught by the Pen, (4) Taught man what he did not know. (5) Yet man behaves arrogantly, (6) because he thinks himself self-sufficient: (7) Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. (8) Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, (9) A bondman of Ours when he prayeth (10) Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? (11) Or enjoins Righteousness? (12) What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! (13) Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? (14) Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, (15) his lying sinful forelock. (16) So, let him call upon his way! (17) We will now call the guards! (18) No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ (19)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
