The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
