The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- (1) Created man from a clinging substance. (2) Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One (3) who, by the pen, taught the human being: (4) taught man what he did not know. (5) Nay! man is most surely inordinate, (6) Because he sees himself self-sufficient. (7) Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. (8) What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids (9) A slave when he prayeth? (10) Have you seen if he was upon guidance (11) Or enjoins righteousness? (12) What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - (13) Did he not realise that Allah is watching? (14) Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. (15) A lying, sinful forehead. (16) So let him summon his helpmates; (17) We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! (18) No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ (19)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
