The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created (1) created man from a clot [of blood]. (2) Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- (3) who taught by the pen, (4) Teacheth man that which he knew not. (5) Nay, but verily man is rebellious (6) that he sees himself sufficed. (7) Surely your returning is to your Lord. (8) What thinkest thou? He who forbids (9) a servant [of God] from praying? (10) What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, (11) or bade to godfearing -- (12) Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, (13) Did he not realise that Allah is watching? (14) Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- (15) A lying, sinful forelock! (16) So let him summon his helpmates; (17) We too would summon the braves of the army. (18) Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ (19)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
