The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, (1) created man from a clot [of blood]. (2) Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, (3) who taught by the pen, (4) Taught man that which he knew not. (5) By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. (6) whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: (7) Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. (8) Seest thou one who forbids- (9) a servant of Ours from prayer? (10) What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, (11) Or he commandeth piety? (12) Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, (13) Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? (14) Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, (15) A lying, sinning forelock. (16) So let him call his associates, (17) We shall call the guards of Hell. (18) Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ (19)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
