The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, (1) He created man from a clot of blood. (2) Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One (3) who taught by the Pen, (4) He taught the human being what he did not know. (5) No! [But] indeed, man transgresses (6) whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: (7) truly, all will return to your Lord. (8) Have you seen him who forbids (9) a servant when he prays -- (10) Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, (11) Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? (12) Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? (13) Does he not know that Allah sees? (14) Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - (15) A lying, sinful forelock! (16) Then, let him call his assembly, (17) We shall call on the guards of Hell. (18) (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ (19)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
