The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created (1) Created man from a clinging substance. (2) Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - (3) He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- (4) Taught man that which he knew not. (5) Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, (6) for he thinks himself self-sufficient. (7) Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). (8) Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, (9) a servant of Ours from prayer? (10) What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided (11) Or he commandeth piety? (12) What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, (13) Does he not realize that God sees him? (14) Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead (15) a lying, sinful forelock. (16) So let him summon his helpmates; (17) We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! (18) No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ (19)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
