The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- (1) created man from a clot [of blood]. (2) Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, (3) He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- (4) taught the human what he did not know. (5) Yet man behaves arrogantly, (6) Because he sees himself free from want. (7) for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. (8) What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – (9) A servant when he prays? (10) Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) (11) Or enjoineth piety? (12) Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? (13) Does he not know that Allah sees? (14) And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, (15) a lying, sinful forelock. (16) Then let him call his associates; (17) We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! (18) Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ (19)
Almighty God's Truth.
