The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the forenoon (after sun-rise); 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
