93 The Forenoon
Al-Duhaa
Juz 30
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, (1) And by the night when it is still (or darkens); (2) Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. (3) for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! (4) And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet peace and blessings be upon him.) (5) Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? (6) Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? (7) And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? (8) Therefore do not oppress the orphan. (9) and do not reject the beggars (10) And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). (11)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
