The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, (1) and the day as it rises bright! (2) and by the creation of the male and the female. (3) O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! (4) As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) (5) and believes in the finest, (6) We will facilitate for him the easy end. (7) but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, (8) and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). (9) So We will very soon provide him hardship. (10) His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. (11) Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, (12) and to Us belong the Last and the First. (13) So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. (14) None except the most wicked will enter it. (15) Who belieth and turneth away. (16) And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). (17) Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). (18) And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded (19) He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. (20) And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. (21)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
