The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, (1) And the day when it shines in brightness, (2) And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. (3) surely your striving is to diverse ends. (4) As for he who gives and fears Allah (5) And believes in the best [reward], (6) We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. (7) But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, (8) And who belieth the Good, (9) We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; (10) And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). (11) Indeed, Guidance is Ours, (12) and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. (13) I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, (14) None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones (15) He who denieth and turneth away. (16) He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) (17) Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. (18) And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. (19) But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. (20) He will surely be well-pleased (with him). (21)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
