The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding (1) by the day when it appears radiant, (2) And [by] He who created the male and female, (3) you strive in various ways. (4) So for one who gave and practised piety (5) And believes in the best [reward], (6) Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. (7) but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, (8) And who belieth the Good, (9) Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. (10) His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. (11) Indeed, Guidance is Ours, (12) and to Us belong the Last and the First. (13) So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. (14) None shall enter it save the most wretched, (15) who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. (16) and from which the cautious shall be distanced. (17) Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself (18) And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, (19) but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. (20) and before long he will be well satisfied. (21)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
