The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
