The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
