The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, (1) And by the day as it appears in brightness; (2) and by Him Who created the male and the female: (3) Verily your endeavour is diverse. (4) As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, (5) and believes in the finest, (6) Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. (7) And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, (8) And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); (9) Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. (10) his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. (11) BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; (12) and to Us belong the Last and the First. (13) So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. (14) none shall enter it but the most wicked, (15) who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. (16) and from which the cautious shall be distanced. (17) [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself (18) and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense (19) except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High (20) And he shall soon be well-pleased. (21)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
