The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, (1) And the day resplendent (2) And by Who created the male and female, (3) Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). (4) For him that gives and fears (Allah) (5) And believeth in goodness; (6) We shall surely ease him to the Easing. (7) But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, (8) And denied the best matter, (9) We will ease him toward difficulty. (10) And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). (11) Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, (12) and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. (13) Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire (14) in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, (15) Who had denied and turned away. (16) But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- (17) Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). (18) And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. (19) But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. (20) and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. (21)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
