The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
