The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
