The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers (1) by the day when it appears radiant, (2) And by Who created the male and female, (3) Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. (4) As for he who gives and fears Allah (5) for those who spend for the cause of God, (6) for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. (7) But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, (8) And rejects the best, (9) We will facilitate for him the difficult end. (10) And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). (11) Indeed, Guidance is Ours, (12) And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. (13) I have warned you then about a raging Fire: (14) None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. (15) Who belieth and turneth away. (16) But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, (17) Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). (18) And none hath with him any favour for reward, (19) He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. (20) and before long he will be well satisfied. (21)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
