The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, (1) And the day when it shines in brightness, (2) And Him Who hath created male and female, (3) Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. (4) As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) (5) And accepts the best, (6) We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. (7) But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, (8) And denied the best matter, (9) We will facilitate for him the difficult end. (10) His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. (11) Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, (12) and to Us belong the Last and the First. (13) and so I warn you of the raging fire (14) where none shall burn except the most wicked, (15) Who had denied and turned away. (16) But the righteous one will avoid it - (17) the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; (18) And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. (19) acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- (20) and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. (21)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
