The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
