89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dawn, (1) By the Nights twice five; (2) by the even and the odd, (3) And by the night when it departeth, (4) Indeed in that there is an oath for a man of sense. (5) Hast thou not seen how thy Lord did with Ad, (6) Who were very tall like lofty pillars, (7) whose like has never been created in any other land. (8) And how did He deal with Thamud who hewed out rocks in the valley? (9) And with Firaun, who used to crucify. (10) [All of] whom oppressed within the lands (11) and worked much corruption therein? (12) so your Lord unleashed on them the scourge of punishment: (13) surely thy Lord is ever on the watch. (14) Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." (15) But when He tests him by restricting his provision, he says: 'My Lord has humiliated me' (16) No indeed; but you honour not the orphan, (17) Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- (18) And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. (19) and why do you have an excessive love of riches? (20) Most certainly when the earth is smashed and blown to bits. (21) And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, (22) And when hell is brought that day on that day will man reflect, but where is the time now to think? (23) He will say: would that I had sent before for this life of mine! (24) On that Day no one will punish as He punishes, (25) And no one binds like He does! (26) O satisfied soul, (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. (28) enter, then, together with My [other true] servants (29) And come into My Paradise! (30)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
