Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dawn, (1) And by ten nights, (2) And by the even and the odd, (3) and by the passing night, (4) is there not in this strong evidence for a man of sense? (5) Did you not see how did your Lord deal with (the tribe of) Aad? (6) of Iram, known for their lofty columns, (7) The like of which was not created in the lands; (8) And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley; (9) and with Pharaoh of the stakes? (10) Who all waxed exorbitant in the cities, (11) And made therein much mischief. (12) Then their Lord unloosed upon them the lash of chastisement. (13) Truly your Lord is ever watchful. (14) And as for man, when his Lord tries him, then treats him with honor and makes him lead an easy life, he says: My Lord honors me. (15) But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" (16) No! But you show no good to the orphan, (17) And urge not on the feeding of the poor. (18) And you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately, (19) and you ardently love wealth. (20) No indeed! When the earth is ground to powder, (21) And thy Lord shall come and the angels, rank on rank. (22) And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance? (23) He will say: "Alas the woe! Would that I had sent ahead something in my life." (24) Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise; (25) none shall bind as He binds. (26) O soul that art at rest! (27) "Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! (28) So enter among My servants, (29) yea, enter thou My paradise!" (30)
Almighty God's Truth.
