Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the dawn (1) by the Ten Nights, (2) by the even and the odd, (3) And by the Night when it passeth away;- (4) Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? (5) Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad, (6) (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings, (7) the like of which was never created in the land, (8) And (with) Thamud (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? (9) And with Firaun, who used to crucify. (10) (All) these transgressed beyond bounds in the lands, (11) And increased therein the corruption. (12) so your Lord unleashed on them the scourge of punishment: (13) for, verily, thy Sustainer is ever on the watch! (14) As for man, whenever his Lord tries him, and honours him, and blesses him, then he says, 'My Lord has honoured me.' (15) But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" (16) (Since wealth does not necessarily guarantee everlasting happiness) then why do you not show kindness to the orphans, (17) Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, (18) and you devour the inheritance with greed, (19) And love wealth with all your heart. (20) Nay, but [how will you fare on Judgment Day,] when the earth is crushed with crushing upon crushing, (21) and (when you find yourself) in the presence of your Lord and the rows and rows of angels, your greed for riches will certainly be of no avail to you. (22) And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance? (23) He shall say, 'O would that I had forwarded for my life!' (24) So on that day, no one punishes like He does! (25) and none can bind with bonds like His! (26) O thou peaceful soul! (27) Return thou unto thy Sustainer, well-pleased [and] pleasing [Him]: (28) "Enter you, then, among My honoured slaves, (29) "And enter you My Paradise!" (30)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
