89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the break of Day (1) by the Ten (secret) Nights, (2) by the even and the odd, (3) And by the night when it departs. (4) There surely is an oath for thinking man. (5) Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad - (6) (And) the tall giants of Iram? (7) the like of which has never been created in the land, (8) And Thamood, who hewed out the rocks of the valley? (9) And the mighty Pharaoh (10) Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah). (11) and exceeded in corruption therein. (12) so your Lord unleashed on them the scourge of punishment: (13) Truly your Lord is ever watchful. (14) As for man, whenever his Lord tries him, and honours him, and blesses him, then he says, 'My Lord has honoured me.' (15) However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance, he says, "God has disgraced me". (16) (Since wealth does not necessarily guarantee everlasting happiness) then why do you not show kindness to the orphans, (17) nor do you urge one another to feed the needy. (18) And devour the inheritance devouring greedily, (19) And ye love wealth with inordinate love! (20) Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding, (21) And comes your Lord, and angels row on row, (22) And on that Day hell will be brought [within sight]; on that Day man will remember [all that he did and failed to do]: but what will that remembrance avail him? (23) He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life! (24) For, none can make suffer as He will make suffer [the sinners] on that Day, (25) none shall bind as He binds. (26) O soul that art at rest! (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], (28) "Enter then among My votaries, (29) "Yea, enter thou My Heaven! (30)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
