89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Dawn, (1) And the ten nights, (2) by the even, and the odd, (3) by the night when it journeys on! (4) Truly in that there is an oath for those who possess understanding. (5) Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with 'Ad (people)? (6) Who were very tall like lofty pillars, (7) The like of which was not built in the cities, (8) and with [the tribe of] Thamud, who hollowed out rocks in the valley? (9) And Pharaoh, of the pegs (impaling his victims)? (10) who transgressed in the countries of the world (11) and spread much corruption in the land. (12) Wherefore thy Lord poured on them the scourge of His torment. (13) Your Lord is certainly in wait. (14) As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me." (15) But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" (16) But nay, nay, [O men, consider all that you do and fail to do:] you are not generous towards the orphan, (17) And do not urge one another to feed the needy. (18) And ye devour inheritance - all with greed, (19) And ye love riches with exceeding love. (20) No indeed! When the earth is ground to powder, (21) And thy Lord shall come and the angels, rank on rank. (22) And the Hell on that Day shall be brought nigh. On that Day man shall remember, but how will remembrance avail him? (23) He will say, "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life!" (24) So on that day, no one punishes like He does! (25) and Allah will bind as none other can bind. (26) (It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], (28) And enter among My [righteous] servants (29) and enter My Paradise.” (30)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
