89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dawn (1) And by oath of ten nights. (2) by the even and the odd, (3) The night as it advances, (4) Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? (5) Did you not see how did your Lord deal with (the tribe of) Aad? (6) of Iram, known for their lofty columns, (7) the like of which was never created in the countries? (8) And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley; (9) And the mighty Pharaoh (10) Who all waxed exorbitant in the cities, (11) and worked much corruption therein? (12) Therefore your Lord let down upon them a portion of the chastisement. (13) Indeed nothing is hidden from the sight of your Lord. (14) So man, whenever his Lord tests him by giving him honour and favours thereupon he says, “My Lord has honoured me.” (15) whereas, whenever He tries him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Sustainer has disgraced me!" (16) Not at all but rather you do not honour the orphan. (17) Nor urge upon each other the feeding of the poor, (18) And you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately, (19) And you love wealth with immense love. (20) Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding, (21) And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank, (22) And hell is brought near that day; on that day man will remember, but how will the remembrance (then avail him)? (23) He will say: would that I had sent before for this life of mine! (24) Upon that day none shall chastise as He chastises, (25) And no one binds like He does! (26) Serene soul, (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. (28) So enter among My (righteous) servants (29) Enter My Paradise." (30)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
