89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Dawn, (1) And the Ten Nights, (2) Consider the multiple and the One! (3) And the night when it departs. (4) Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? (5) Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with Ad (6) of Iram, known for their lofty columns, (7) the like of whom no nation was ever created in the lands of the world? (8) And with Thamud who hewed out rocks in the vale, (9) And Pharaoh, of the pegs (impaling his victims)? (10) Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah). (11) And multiplied iniquity therein? (12) So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. (13) Indeed nothing is hidden from the sight of your Lord. (14) As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me. (15) However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance, he says, "God has disgraced me". (16) Not at all but rather you do not honour the orphan. (17) And urge not on the feeding of the poor. (18) and greedily devour the entire inheritance, (19) and love the riches, loving them ardently. (20) Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, (21) And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, (22) And on that Day hell will be brought [within sight]; on that Day man will remember [all that he did and failed to do]: but what will that remembrance avail him? (23) He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" (24) Upon that day none shall chastise as He chastises, (25) and none can bind with bonds like His. (26) (To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) Return thou unto thy Sustainer, well-pleased [and] pleasing [Him]: (28) Enter thou among My bondmen! (29) enter My Paradise! (30)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
