89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dawn (1) by the Ten Nights, (2) and the even and the odd, (3) And the night when it departs. (4) Is there in that an oath for the mindful? (5) Did you not see how did your Lord deal with (the tribe of) Aad? (6) the people of the huge columned city of Eram (7) the like of whom has never been reared in all the land? (8) And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley; (9) and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, (10) Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah). (11) And who then spread a lot of turmoil in them. (12) Thus, your Lord afflicted them with torment; (13) For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. (14) As for man, when his Lord tests him, through honour and blessings, he says, "My Lord has honoured me," (15) But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" (16) No! But you do not honor the orphan (17) And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor. (18) And devour the inheritance devouring greedily, (19) and you love wealth with an ardent love (20) When the earth is crushed into small pieces (21) and your Lord comes with the angels, rank upon rank, (22) and when Hell is brought near that Day. On that Day will man understand, but of what avail will that understanding be? (23) He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" (24) So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish. (25) and none can bind with bonds like His! (26) 'O soul at peace, (27) "Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! (28) Enter thou among My servants! (29) enter My Paradise! (30)
