89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dawn, (1) and the ten nights! (2) The multiple and the one, (3) And the night when it departs. (4) Considering all this - could there be, to anyone endowed with reason, a [more] solemn evidence of the truth? (5) Bethinkest thou not in what wise thy Lord did with the 'A'ad: (6) the people of the huge columned city of Eram (7) Like whom no one else was born in the cities. (8) And the tribe of Thamud, who hewed rocks in the valley. (9) And with Pharaoh, firm of might, (10) All of them committed excesses in their lands, (11) And multiplied therein corruption. (12) So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. (13) Lo! thy Lord is ever watchful. (14) BUT AS FOR man, whenever his Sustainer tries him by His generosity and by letting him enjoy a life of ease, he says, "My Sustainer has been [justly] generous towards me"; (15) but when He tests him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Lord has disgraced me." (16) No! But you do not honor the orphan (17) or urge one another to feed the destitute? (18) And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. (19) And you harbour intense love for wealth. (20) Most certainly when the earth is smashed and blown to bits. (21) when your Lord comes down with the angels, rank upon rank, (22) On that day, hell will be brought closer and the human being will come to his senses, but this will be of no avail to him. (23) He will say, "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life!" (24) So on that day, no one punishes like He does! (25) And none can bind as He will bind. (26) (To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) Return to your Lord well-pleased (with your blissful destination), well-pleasing (to your Lord). (28) Join My worshipers and (29) Enter thou My Paradise!' (30)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
