89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dawn (1) by the Ten (secret) Nights, (2) And by oath of the even and the odd. (3) and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). (4) Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? (5) Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad (6) the people of Iram, the city of many pillars, (7) The like of which was not created in the lands; (8) And (with) Samood, who hewed out the rocks in the valley, (9) And with Firaun, who used to crucify. (10) Who committed inordinacy in the cities, (11) spreading in them much corruption? (12) Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: (13) for, indeed, your Sustainer is ever on the watch! (14) As for man, whenever his Lord tries him, and honours him, and blesses him, then he says, 'My Lord has honoured me.' (15) But whenever He trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: My Lord despiseth me. (16) Not at all but rather you do not honour the orphan. (17) and you do not urge one another to feed the needy, (18) And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether, (19) and you ardently love wealth. (20) No indeed! When the earth is crushed and ground to dust, (21) And when the command of your Lord comes and the angels row by row, (22) And hell is brought near that day; on that day man will remember, but how will the remembrance (then avail him)? (23) He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" (24) Upon that day none shall chastise as He chastises, (25) and Allah will bind as none other can bind. (26) (It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) Return thou unto thy Sustainer, well-pleased [and] pleasing [Him]: (28) So enter among My (righteous) servants (29) yea, enter thou My paradise!" (30)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
