89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the dawn, (1) by the Ten (secret) Nights, (2) And the even and the odd, (3) And by the Night when it passeth away;- (4) Why is there an oath in this, for the intelligent? (5) Hast thou not seen how thy Lord did with Ad, (6) Who were very tall like lofty pillars, (7) The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? (8) And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley; (9) And with Firaun, who used to crucify. (10) They were tyrants in the land (11) and brought about great corruption therein: (12) Thy Lord unloosed on them a scourge of chastisement; (13) Indeed, your Lord is in observation. (14) BUT AS FOR man, whenever his Sustainer tries him by His generosity and by letting him enjoy a life of ease, he says, "My Sustainer has been [justly] generous towards me"; (15) However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance, he says, "God has disgraced me". (16) Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphan (17) nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, (18) And you devour inheritance all with greed, (19) And you love wealth with much love! (20) Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, (21) And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, (22) And on that Day hell will be brought [within sight]; on that Day man will remember [all that he did and failed to do]: but what will that remembrance avail him? (23) He will say, “Alas if only I had sent some good deeds ahead, during my lifetime!” (24) None punisheth as He will punish on that day! (25) Nor shall any bind with His bond. (26) (It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. (28) enter, then, together with My [other true] servants (29) And enter My Paradise." (30)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
