89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Dawn, (1) And by ten nights, (2) And by the even and the odd, (3) and by the passing night, (4) There surely is an oath for thinking man. (5) Bethinkest thou not in what wise thy Lord did with the 'A'ad: (6) [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars, (7) the like of which was never created in the land, (8) And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- (9) And (with) Fir'aun (Pharaoh), who had pegs (who used to torture men by binding them to pegs)? (10) (All) these transgressed beyond bounds in the lands, (11) And multiplied therein corruption. (12) Then their Lord unloosed upon them the lash of chastisement. (13) For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. (14) Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." (15) But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me." (16) But nay, nay, [O men, consider all that you do and fail to do:] you are not generous towards the orphan, (17) or urge one another to feed the destitute? (18) and you devour the inheritance [of others] with devouring greed, (19) and you ardently love wealth. (20) No indeed! When the earth is ground to powder, (21) and thy Lord comes, and the angels rank on rank, (22) And when hell is brought that day on that day will man reflect, but where is the time now to think? (23) He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" (24) On that day the punishment of God and His detention will be unparalleled. (25) none shall bind as He binds. (26) (To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. (28) Join My servants. (29) And enter into My garden. (30)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
