89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dawn (1) and ten nights (of pilgrimage or the last ten days of Ramadan), (2) And the even and the odd, (3) And the night when it departeth, (4) Is there in that an oath for a mindful man? (5) Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with Ad (6) of the columned (city) of Iram, (7) The like of which was not built in the cities, (8) And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley? (9) And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - (10) Who terrorised the region, (11) And multiplied iniquity therein? (12) so your Lord unleashed on them the scourge of punishment: (13) surely thy Lord is ever on the watch. (14) And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." (15) But when He tries him by restraining his means, he says: "My Lord despises me." (16) But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably, (17) and you urge not the feeding of the needy, (18) And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether, (19) And you love wealth with much love! (20) No! But when the earth quakes and is pounded, (21) And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, (22) And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? (23) He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life." (24) Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise; (25) none shall bind as He binds. (26) O the contented soul! (27) return to your Lord well pleased with him and He will be pleased with you. (28) Enter thou among My bondmen! (29) Enter My Paradise." (30)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
