89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the break of Day (1) And [by] ten nights (2) And by oath of the even and the odd. (3) And by the night when it departs. (4) Indeed in that there is an oath for a man of sense. (5) Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad, (6) (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings, (7) The likes of whom had never been created in the land? (8) And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- (9) and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, (10) led rebellious lives, (11) spreading in them much corruption? (12) So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. (13) for, verily, thy Sustainer is ever on the watch! (14) As for man - when his Lord proveth him and so honoureth him and is bounteous unto him, then he saith: 'my Lord hath honoured me, (15) And when He proveth him, and so stinteth unto him his provision, he saith: 'my Lord hath despised me. (16) Not at all but rather you do not honour the orphan. (17) nor do you urge one another to feed the needy. (18) And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. (19) And ye love riches with exceeding love. (20) No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed - (21) And comes your Lord, and angels row on row, (22) And Hell is brought near, that day will man remember, but of what avail will then remembering be? (23) He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life! (24) For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict, (25) None bindeth as He then will bind. (26) O satisfied soul, (27) Return towards your Lord you being pleased with Him, and He pleased with you! (28) Join My worshipers and (29) And enter My Paradise." (30)
