Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the daybreak (1) And the ten nights, (2) Consider the multiple and the One! (3) and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). (4) Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense? (5) Have you not heard how your Lord dealt with Aad? (6) The people of many-columned lram. (7) the like of whom no nation was ever created in the lands of the world? (8) (Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. (9) And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - (10) They were tyrants in the land (11) And made therein much mischief. (12) Thus, your Lord afflicted them with torment; (13) indeed, your Lord is ever watchful. (14) As for man, when his Lord tests him by honoring him and favoring him, he says: 'My Lord, has honored me' (15) But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!" (16) Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphan (17) nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, (18) And you readily devour the inheritance with greed. (19) and you love wealth with boundless love! (20) Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces, (21) And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank, (22) And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? (23) He will say: 'Would that I had forwarded (good works) for my life!' (24) Wherefore on that Day none shall torment with His torment. (25) And none can bind as He will bind. (26) (It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! (27) "Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! (28) So enter among My servants, (29) into My Paradise. (30)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
