89 Dawn
Al-Fajr
Juz 30
Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dawn, (1) And by oath of ten nights. (2) And the even and the odd, (3) by the night when it journeys on! (4) Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense? (5) ART THOU NOT aware of how thy Sustainer has dealt with [the tribe of] 'Ad, (6) [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars, (7) the like of which was never created in the countries? (8) (Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. (9) And Pharaoh, of the pegs (impaling his victims)? (10) Who (all) were rebellious (to Allah) in these lands, (11) And multiplied iniquity therein? (12) Thy Lord unloosed on them a scourge of chastisement; (13) Most surely your Lord is watching. (14) As for man, when his Lord tests him by exalting him and bestowing His bounties upon him, he says: “My Lord has exalted me.” (15) But when He tries him by restraining his means, he says: "My Lord despises me." (16) (Since wealth does not necessarily guarantee everlasting happiness) then why do you not show kindness to the orphans, (17) Nor urge upon each other the feeding of the poor, (18) And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. (19) and you ardently love wealth. (20) Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, (21) and thy Lord comes, and the angels rank on rank, (22) and when Hell is brought near that Day. On that Day will man understand, but of what avail will that understanding be? (23) He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life! (24) For, none can make suffer as He will make suffer [the sinners] on that Day, (25) And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. (26) [But unto the righteous God will say,] "O thou human being that hast attained to inner peace! (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], (28) "Enter then among My votaries, (29) Enter thou My Paradise!' (30)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
