Al-Ghaasheyah
Juz 30
Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? (1) Faces on that Day shall be downcast, (2) be toiling and worn-out; (3) They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. (4) Made to drink from a boiling spring. (5) They shall have no food but of thorns, (6) Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. (7) Many a face will be in serenity on that day. (8) Glad for their effort past, (9) in a sublime Garden, (10) wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. (11) Therein will be a flowing spring, (12) [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, (13) And chosen goblets. (14) And cushions lined up (15) And carpets ready spread, (16) Look they not at the camels, how they are created? (17) And the heaven how it has been raised? (18) And at the mountains, how they are rooted? (19) And the earth, how it was spread out? (20) So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, (21) You do not have full control over them. (22) Save the one who turns away and disbelieves (23) him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: (24) To Us is surely their returning; (25) Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. (26)
Almighty God's Truth.
