Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? (1) On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, (2) Labouring, wearied out, (3) (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. (4) and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. (5) No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' (6) Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. (7) On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, (8) Glad for their effort past, (9) In a lofty Paradise. (10) wherein they will not hear any vain talk. (11) Therein is a fountain flowing, (12) Within it are couches raised high (13) And chosen goblets. (14) and cushions arrayed (15) And rich carpets (all) spread out. (16) Look they not at the camels, how they are created? (17) and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, (18) and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, (19) And at the earth - how it is spread out? (20) Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. (21) You are not a dictator over them. (22) However, those who turn away and disbelieve, (23) In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. (24) Indeed only towards Us is their return (25) Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. (26)
Almighty God's Truth.
