Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? (1) On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, (2) Travailing, worn. (3) they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; (4) The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, (5) no food for them except thorny plants (6) Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. (7) (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, (8) Pleased with their striving,- (9) in a garden sublime, (10) Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. (11) Countless springs will flow therein, (12) In which are high thrones. (13) And cups put in place (14) and cushions arrayed in rows, (15) and outspread carpets. (16) Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, (17) how heaven was lifted up, (18) and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, (19) And the earth: how it was spread out? (20) (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. (21) You do not have full control over them. (22) However, he who turns away and disbelieves - (23) Allah will punish him with direst punishment. (24) Verily unto Us is their return. (25) Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. (26)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
