Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? (1) [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, (2) troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. (3) Entering into burning fire, (4) Made to drink from a boiling spring. (5) They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit (6) Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. (7) Some faces on that Day will be radiant, (8) Well-pleased with their endeavour, (9) In a Garden on high, (10) Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, (11) Therein is a fountain flowing, (12) raised couches, (13) and prepared goblets, (14) And cushions ranged (15) And rich carpets (all) spread out. (16) Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? (17) how the heavens are raised up high, (18) And the mountains, how they were fixed; (19) And how the earth was outstretched? (20) Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. (21) and are not invested with the authority to compel them. (22) But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve (23) him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: (24) Indeed, to Us is their return. (25) Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. (26)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
