Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? (1) Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, (2) laboring, wornout, (3) They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire (4) Made to drink from a boiling spring. (5) They will have no food except bitter thorn, (6) Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. (7) Faces on that day jocund, (8) Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). (9) In a high Garden. (10) Where they hear no idle speech, (11) In it is a flowing spring. (12) Therein will be thrones raised high, (13) And cups set at hand. (14) and cushions arrayed (15) And carpets spread around. (16) Have they not looked at how the camel is created, (17) And how the heaven was raised up, (18) and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, (19) And the earth how it has been spread out? (20) Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. (21) You do not have full control over them. (22) But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, (23) God will punish them with the greatest torment. (24) Indeed only towards Us is their return (25) then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. (26)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
