Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? (1) [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, (2) Labouring, wearied out, (3) roasting at a scorching Fire (4) The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, (5) they shall have no food but thorns, (6) which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. (7) [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, (8) well pleased with the result of their striving, (9) In an elevated garden, (10) Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. (11) A gushing fountain shall be there (12) In which are high thrones. (13) and goblets set forth (14) And cushions ranged (15) And rich carpets (all) spread out. (16) Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? (17) And the sky: how it was raised high? (18) how the mountains were hoisted, (19) And at the earth, how it is outspread? (20) So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, (21) You are not a watcher over them; (22) However, those who turn away and disbelieve, (23) Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. (24) Surely to Us is their return; (25) Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. (26)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
