Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); (1) Faces on that Day shall be downcast, (2) laboring, wornout, (3) They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. (4) They will be given drink from a boiling spring. (5) They shall have no food but of thorns, (6) Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. (7) (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, (8) well-pleased with their striving. (9) In a lofty Paradise. (10) Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. (11) Wherein is a gushing spring, (12) and couches raised high, (13) And goblets set at hand (14) And cushions set in a row, (15) and carpets spread out. (16) What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? (17) And the heavens, how it was raised high; (18) And at the mountains, how they are rooted? (19) And at the earth - how it is spread out? (20) Remind them; you are surely a reminder. (21) You are not a warden over them, (22) Other than him who turns his back and denies, (23) Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. (24) Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. (25) Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. (26)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
