Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? (1) Some faces will on that Day be downcast, (2) Working [hard] and exhausted. (3) They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, (4) watered at a boiling fountain, (5) No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' (6) Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. (7) [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. (8) Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). (9) In a high Garden. (10) They shall hear therein no vain discourse; (11) with a flowing spring, (12) raised couches, (13) and goblets set at hand, (14) And cushions set in a row, (15) And carpets ready spread, (16) Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? (17) And at the sky - how it is raised? (18) how the mountains are set firm, (19) and on the earth, how it is spread out? (20) Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; (21) Thou art not over them a warden. (22) But whoever turns back and disbelieves, (23) Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. (24) Verily unto Us is their return. (25) Then indeed, upon Us is their account. (26)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
