86 The Comet
Al-Taareq
Juz 30
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. (1) And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? (2) It is the star shining brightly. (3) No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. (4) So let man consider from what he is created. (5) he was created of gushing water (6) issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: (7) Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! (8) On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test (9) He shall have neither strength nor helper. (10) By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. (11) And by the earth which splitteth, (12) BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, (13) and it is certainly not a jest. (14) Surely they will make a scheme, (15) And I am plotting a plot. (16) So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. (17)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
