The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. (1) And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? (2) It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- (3) There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. (4) Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. (5) He was created of a gushing fluid, (6) Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. (7) Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). (8) On the day when all secrets will be made public, (9) and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! (10) By heaven of the returning rain, (11) And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- (12) Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, (13) And it is not a frivolity. (14) They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, (15) And I secretly plan. (16) So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. (17)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
